Twenty-Seven Months of Notes on Flexibility & Movement

Personal observations only · Tilburg, Netherlands

My name is Stockner Derring. Twenty-seven months of daily gymnastics floor practice, passive evening stretching, and food observation notes have produced an honest personal archive — shared openly, without professional framing, credentials, or claims of expertise.

Twenty-Seven Months: A Careful Look at What My Notes Actually Document Over Time

Looking back through the full archive, I was struck by how the character of my attention changes over a sustained period. The positions that appear every month without exception, the observations that shift between year one and year two, the moments when a familiar element suddenly reads differently — this entry documents what twenty-seven months of consistent daily notes actually look like when reviewed systematically.

My Evening Stretching Notes Across Two Years: What Changed in My Observations

I have kept dedicated evening stretching notes since month five of this journal. Two years into that practice, I went back through the full archive of evening entries and compared observations across the two years. The comparison is interesting and personal — not scientific, not professional, but honest and specific.

Six Weeks Without Alcohol: My Floor Practice Notes from That Period

I stopped drinking alcohol entirely for six weeks and kept careful parallel notes throughout about my morning practice sessions. I hold no nutritional or medical qualifications. I share these notes exactly as written — what I chose not to consume, and what I personally observed in my practice during the same period. No scientific claims.

About Me

Twenty-Seven Months of Daily Observation

My name is Stockner Derring and I live in Tilburg. I am not a physiotherapist, personal trainer, nutritionist, or any kind of health professional. I have no formal background in exercise, movement science, anatomy, or diet. I began this journal twenty-seven months ago with no prior physical practice of any kind and have written down what I personally observe every single day since.

The journal started in late 2022. I began spending time on a mat each morning out of personal curiosity, found that the combination of daily movement and daily writing produced something interesting in my attention, and kept going. Twenty-seven months later the archive covers a gymnastics-inspired floor practice I developed entirely through personal trial, passive evening stretching I added in month five, and food observation notes I have kept since month nine. Nothing in the archive was designed for any audience other than myself.

I share it because I believe unmediated long personal records of real daily practice have a genuine value that no amount of professional expertise can replicate. I have paid careful, honest attention for twenty-seven months and written everything down precisely. That is what I offer. Nothing here is medical advice, professional guidance, or instruction of any kind.

No qualifications held in medicine, physiotherapy, personal training, nutrition, or any related field. For any health concern, please consult a qualified professional.

My Personal Practice

Three Areas I Return to Every Day

Twenty-seven months of notes have produced three consistent areas of personal practice. This describes what I personally do — not what I suggest for anyone else.

Floor Work

Gymnastics-Inspired Floor Movements Each Morning

Every morning I begin on a mat. My floor practice involves movements I developed through twenty-seven months of personal experiment: slow controlled rolls across different planes, bridging holds at varying heights, lateral floor sweeps, hip circles, and spinal extension positions I arrived at by noticing what I found worth writing about. Nothing was designed. Each element emerged through genuine personal trial and careful documentation across over two years. My morning notes are the largest section of the archive — twenty-seven months of entries tracking the evolution of a practice from day one.

01
Evening Stretch

Passive Gravity-Led Stretching From Month Five

From month five I added a short evening practice: passive stretching positions entered carefully and held without effort, using gravity and time. Over twenty-two months of evening practice I have kept a dedicated set of notes in a separate archive section. The evening entries are quieter and more granular than the morning ones — more focused on specific areas, often very brief. I share what I personally observe without claiming to interpret the mechanisms involved, because I am not qualified to do so.

02
Nutrition Log

Food Observation Notes From Month Nine

Since month nine I have kept parallel food notes alongside my movement journal. I record what I ate the previous day and note anything I personally observe during the same or following morning session. I have made four deliberate periods of dietary adjustment across twenty-seven months and documented each carefully. I hold no nutritional qualifications and make no claim about what food does to any person's body. These notes are one honest parallel record — one person's eating alongside one person's movement practice — nothing more.

Questions

What People Ask Me Most Often

Honest answers to the most common questions about this journal and practice.

Important

No — not in any sense. Nothing on this website constitutes medical advice and nothing should ever be read as medical advice. I am a private individual with no health-related training of any kind. I am not attempting to guide, advise, or direct anyone's physical health. Every entry on this site is a first-person account of my own personal experience. If you have any concern about your physical health, your joints, your flexibility, or any related matter, please speak with a qualified doctor, physiotherapist, or licensed professional. My journal is a personal record — not guidance.

Important

None whatsoever. I hold no qualifications in any health-related discipline. I am not a doctor, physiotherapist, personal trainer, gymnastics coach, sports scientist, nutritionist, or dietitian. I have had no formal education in anatomy, exercise science, physiology, or any related subject. I am a private person in Tilburg who began a daily movement practice twenty-seven months ago and has kept detailed written records throughout. Those records are what I share — nothing more than that.

The Twenty-Seven Month Record is the complete digital download of my personal journal: twenty-seven months of morning floor work entries, evening stretching notes (from month five), and food observation logs (from month nine), plus periodic longer reflections. It is organised chronologically and by theme. It includes detailed personal descriptions of each movement and position I use and observations I have made about each across twenty-seven months. It is a genuine journal archive — not a programme, course, or instructional resource.

I am not in a position to answer that question. My descriptions are personal notes about my own practice — they were not designed as instructions for others and carry no safety assessment for anyone else's circumstances. If you have any existing physical concern or health issue, please consult a qualified physiotherapist or doctor before undertaking any new practice. Do not rely on my personal journal for health decisions.

A Personal Notes Exchange is a personal online conversation of approximately sixty minutes in which I describe my practice in full detail across twenty-seven months, reference specific archive entries, and discuss the observations I have made. You share your own routine; I describe mine fully. This is not coaching, assessment, or advice of any kind. Nothing said in the session constitutes professional guidance. It is a genuine exchange of personal observations between two people interested in movement practice.

Twenty-seven months is long enough to capture real longitudinal patterns — what genuinely persists across seasons and different life circumstances, how the same positions feel at very different stages of a practice, what emerges only after sustained attention over a significant period. I am not an expert; I am someone with a long, detailed, honest observation record. I think that is a specific and different kind of value from expert knowledge, and I find records of that kind genuinely interesting to read.

★★★★★

"The Twenty-Seven Month Record is one of the most interesting documents about personal physical practice I have encountered. Stockner writes with precision and genuine honesty across over two years of daily observation. Reading it gave me useful new ways of paying attention to my own mornings."

"The Personal Notes Exchange was genuinely rich. Stockner is completely clear that he gives no advice — and then describes twenty-seven months of daily practice in enough concrete, honest detail that it prompted days of reflection about my own habits. The written notes he sent afterwards were accurate and thoughtful."

"The Active Observation Feed surprised me with its usefulness. Getting live unpolished current journal entries each week — from a genuine long-running personal practice — made me pay much closer attention to my own body than I had in years. Something about real honest observation is distinctly different from any curated advice content."
